Battlefield GC at the Legends on the Niagara Golf Club
Grand Niagara Golf Course:
This course captivates and challenges players of all levels. It’s a gentle 5,737 yards from the forward tees, and a daunting 7,425 yards from the championship tees. Playing each of the four set of tees entails a unique challenge, entices a unique approach, and engenders a unique adventure. The beauty of Grand Niagara echoes the ambience of the world’s classic courses. The fairways roll and the wisps of fescue evoke images of the mist rising from nearby Niagara Falls. One of the finest golf courses in Canada, the Rees Jones Course at Grand Niagara beckons you to experience golf as you’ve never experienced it before.
Legends on the Niagara Golf Club's Ussher’s Creek Golf Course:
This challenging and picturesque course features thick stands of deciduous trees, wetland hazards, knee-high fescue rough, and impeccable conditioning from tee to green. These all combine to make Ussher’s Creek a classic parkland course. Thomas McBroom set the course softly on the land with flowing lines, moderately sized greens with slight folds, and strategic bunkering to create targets and intricate turns. The creek for which the course is named crisscrosses throughout the fairways and weaves into nine holes, providing both aesthetic enhancement and challenge. However, if this is not enough to intimidate any golfer, Ussher’s Creek also has two other large ponds that add to the difficulty of this beautiful design.
Legends on the Niagara Golf Club's Battle Field Golf Course:
The former host of the Canadian Women's Open, this course is made up of an interesting blend of lakeside holes, links-style holes bordered by tall fescue, and a handful of secluded holes surrounded by mature Carolinian forest. A number of strategically positioned fairway, waste, and greenside bunkers come into play, and where there are no bunkers, there is water! In fact, water is featured on seven holes, and many of the holes have both the Ohio-white bunkers and water hazards. The Battle of Chippewa, fought on July 5th, 1814 during the war of 1812, took place on the land bordering the course, hence the course's name. Let's hope you come off conqueror here!
Thundering Waters Golf Course:
Thundering Waters Golf Club is John Daly’s first signature golf course in Canada, located within the Niagara Falls’ Fallsview Tourist District and a mere 1,500 yards from the Horseshoe Falls. Designed in collaboration with Canadian golf architect Bo Danoff, Thundering Waters Golf Club is a magnificent, new 18-hole championship course that reflects John’s risk-for-reward style of play. Thundering Waters is truly a John Daly course, rewarding length, risk taking, and most importantly, shot making and putting. John’s influence in the design of Thundering Waters is evident in some way on every hole. His insight on hazard placement and difficulty, visual targets and slope severity, and on countless other aspects of course design make Thundering Waters challenging to the scratch player, but more than fair to the weekend golfer. The course combines the parkland tranquility of Augusta National with the heathland treachery of British Open Championship golf. Fourteen of the holes wind through a forest of mature maple, oak and hickory trees. Cut between a meandering burn and rugged hills covered with wild fescue grasses the remaining four holes are true links style with windswept fairways, cavernous bunkers and large, undulated greens. We found it to be a fun course and very playable for any handicap level.
